Gearing up for NR002, the Scottish label Nautilus Rising looks at German artist Lazaros Spanidis for its next release. The title track GE might sound a bit familiar if you paid close attention to Âme and Dixon’s Essential Mix back in April.

Working out of the famous Sub Club in Glasgow, Nautilus Rising is a fairly new imprint that debuted back at the end of 2015 with its self-titled release featuring various artists, including Vince Watson, Stephen Lopkin, Lord Of The Isles, and Alex Smoke. The label travels the line between house and techno, offering music that can pump all night in the club or keep you grooving’ during those morning commutes. They continue this trend by enlisting Lazaros for round two.

The Cologne-based producer/DJ is a Nautilus Rising newcomer with several releases under his belt that were featured on labels like KX and Sum Over Histories. His talent behind the decks has also gained much attention, with his latest mix on Connaisseur Recordings’ “The Sound of Connaisseur” radio show being a testament to his dynamic style.

GE EP contains four tracks that are “inspired by forests, black coffee, beer and his native Cologne”. GE and Hz unravel into high-energy, sonic tessellations while Ori and Uranos bump along at a more fluid pace.

The EP is set to release on July 25 through Nautilus Rising’s store, which you can preorder here.
