The French label LAATE has announced their second release titled Circadian Attraction EP by The Black Tone aka Toni Be.

LAATE was started in 2015 by the Nantes-born producer/DJ Clayton Guifford. The label’s first release was Jérôme Pacman’s Wisdom EP, which was first teased last October through their Soundcloud page. LAATE is described as a project that is “dedicated to Space, Time & Parallel Universe.” Both releases capture the cosmic influence which LAATE seeks to embed in its journey with music.

The Black Tone, real name Benoit D., is a French producer/DJ from Clermont-Ferrand that has had material released through other solid record labels, such as Remote Records, Rawthenticity, Soul Notes, Balance Recordings’ vinyl-only sub imprint Courtesy Of Balance Recordings, and Appian Sounds. His The Black Tone alias focuses on dark, dub grooves whereas Toni Be is described as “Benoit’s modern soulful version of himself.”

The title track features dreamy synths with a groovy baseline while Aquatic Redox goes towards a more hypnotic and atmospheric direction. The B side also features a remix of Aquatic Redox by Janeret, turning it into a pumpin’ house frenzy.

We should expect the EP to release sometime in early June, and you can watch Benoit perform next at the LAATE Release Party at Altercafé in Nantes on May 7.
