The label Webuildmachines has announced previews for its forthcoming release, titled Systems EP, by none other than label boss Tunnel. This comes about a month after releasing Bark of Ra, a six-track EP by Tuomas Rantanen.

Tunnel (usually displayed as [ T U N N E L ]) is a Chicago-based producer/DJ that has built his mysterious alias into a name which has garnered attention from artists such as Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Tommy Four Seven, Forward Strategy Group, and Claude Young. The solemn producer has also had material  released on labels like Etichetta Nera and Aerotek Recordings.

Started by Tunnel in 2013, Webuildmachines defines itself as a record label that is “interested in expanding the definition of techno music and modern ritual.” With this mission in mind, it has gained a serious roster for its releases, bringing in seasoned and fresh talent like Construct, Davide Dez, Terrae, G-Man, Steve Stoll, Technoyzer, Logotech, Aleja Sanchez, R.N.T.S., Sone, Pinion, Virulent, Dorian Gray, Onon, Echologist, Anthony Jimenez, Axkan, Annie Hall, Craft, Jason Patrick, Henneke, Andreas Florin, Concrete Djz, Lowkilla, Mad Max, Felix Lorusso, Forest People,  Angel Alanis, Uun, Roberto Figus, Rehmeyer, Kike Pravda, Corbin Davis, Alan Oldham (DJ T1000), and Lance Blaise.

The track titles seems to correlate perfectly with the emphasis of the structure and distinctness of each track. The eerie wording left on the EP’s Soundcloud description also puts a chilling,  mechanical tone for the release.

Systems engineering emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach and means to enable the realization of successful systems. Successful systems must satisfy the needs of their producers, users and other stakeholders.
